Best-selling writer Johnnie Christmas and acclaimed artist Dante Luiz have teamed up for a new lesbian graphic novel called CREMA. The otherworldly story follows Esme, a barista in Brooklyn, who is afraid of the dark and can talk to ghosts. She drinks copious amounts of coffee to stay awake and avoid whatever lurks in the dark. Esme’s world turns upside down when she meets Yara, a coffee shop heiress, and discovers a mysterious letter written in old Portuguese. “Their world is turned upside down when the strange ghost of an old-world nobleman begs Esme to take his letter from NYC to a haunted coffee farm in Brazil, to reunite him with his lost love of a century ago. Bringing sinister tidings of unrequited love,” writes ComiXology.

"CREMA is a combination of lots of my interests: ghost stories, coffee, long letters, and nostalgia," said Christmas in an interview with PRIDE. "An aromatic romance for the modern age, sweet with a bit of bite and a hint of spice, like a good cup of coffee."
